Medical Administration Officer (Chief, Medical Administration Service)

The Chief, Medical Administration Service (MAS), occupies a major position on the Director's staff at this healthcare system.
He/she is the staff management consultant on all matters within the purview of agency wide Medical Administration policies.
The Chief, MAS, has full delegated responsibility for the planning, direction, control, coordination, operation and evaluation of all healthcare system Medical Administration management functions.
In this capacity as Chief of MAS, the incumbent serves as a staff official to the healthcare system Director and Associate Director and shares a full joint and plural management relationship with other staff officials in his/her management specialty.
The incumbent also serves as a member of the Hospital Administrative Executive Board, as well as Clinical Executive Board and is involved in overall management consideration involving general administration manpower and other resource utilization.
Through the direct involvement in all program elements affecting the healthcare system mission, the Chief of MAS helps formulate the advanced overall operating plan as well as serve on committees designed to facilitate top management decisions.
In the capacity of advisor to top management, the incumbent is responsible for providing the influence and persuasion which fosters the acceptance and exercise of sound Medical Administration management concepts, practices and innovations.
He/she consults and participates with all members of top management in analyzing the broad implications of higher levels of authority, laws, regulations, policies, as well as professional and administrative advancement trends.
He/she analyzes their specific impact on Medical Administration and seeks solutions to existing and possible future problems, identifies long and short range needs, formulates proposals for top management consideration, and plans and initiates improvement actions on a continuing progressive basis.
The incumbent is also called upon to serve as a sounding board and consultant to the Director for the resolution of medical administration problems that occur on a regional basis.
If this position is filled at the GS-13 grade level the incumbent will be assigned to developmental duties and responsibilities to provide the individual with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the full range of routine and non-routine assignments with a higher level of independence.
Duties will be performed under close supervision.
In the beginning, assignments will be accompanied by detailed instructions, and the work will be thoroughly reviewed both by spot-check and after completion to evaluate adequacy of methods, procedures and results; ability to understand and solve new, changing and complex problems; effectiveness in working relations with others; and adherence to VA policies, regulations and laws.

The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
